Club Meal Out

In November 2008 club members enjoyed an excellent meal and social evening at the Crown Hotel and it is hoped to repeat this event in 2009.

Tennis Coaching

Four very successful coaching sessions were held in June/July 2008.   The early sessions were for juniors and we had an excellent attendance from local schools both the Wells secondary and primary and the local area primary.   Ashley, also ran a 4 week course for adults which those attending were extremely enthusiastic about and felt they learnt a lot to improve their game.   We hope to run similar coaching courses next year.

WELLS TOWN TENNIS CLUB OPENING CEREMONY - Press Report

On Sunday 20th of July 2008, Wells Town Tennis Club hosted the official opening of their new courts.   Sponsors and club members were invited along to celebrate the successful completion of two brand new all-weather tennis courts in Gales Road, Wells-Next-The-Sea.

Our thanks go to all the sponsors, including the Foundation for Sport and the Arts and Lottery Funding from Awards for All and for the tireless effort from committee members.

The courts were officially opened by Mary Bircham, honorary member and president of the club. Following the ceremony, a junior coaching session took place, highlighting the active involvement of all age groups within the club.

The club is still accepting new members and also welcomes casual bookings for visitors.
