Wells Town Tennis Club is a small friendly club open to players of mixed abilities and has, with the help of the Lawn Tennis Association, in 2008 completed a refurbishment project. The project cost over £32,000 and grant funding was obtained from The Foundation for Sport and the Arts and Awards for All. Donations were also received from Barclays Bank, The Wells Area Partnership, Wells Masons, Wells Lions, Wells Carnival Committee, Sowerbys, Stockers, French's Fish Shop and generous members of the local private community. Club members also undertook many successful fund raising events to ensure that the project funding was achieved.
The Club now has two excellent all weather courts, one of which has additional markings for either two junior courts, or four mini courts all complying with LTA specifications. In May 2009 The Hedley Foundation made a grant to the Club to enable it to purchase junior equipment needed to use these facilities effectively. We inttend that this will kick start a successful junior section which is essential to safeguarding the club's future.
The Club enters a team in the Castle Acre League each year, and there are opportunities to play in other tournaments. In the summer months adult Club sessions are held on Wednesday evenings starting at approximately 6 pm. In the winter months, play on Wednesday's normally starts at approximately 1pm and members can play at other times by arrangement.
We run a very popular Junior Coaching Programme each summer .

Courts can be booked at Drug Store, 31 Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. Closed Thursdays, open other days Mon - Sat 9am - 5pm. On Thursdays bookings can be made at David Jagger Ltd., Chemist, 5 Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea.
